How to Trust God When You Can’t Control Everything

How to Trust God When You Can’t Control Everything

Perhaps your prayer lately has been, "Lord, how can I have more faith?"

But what if the real question isn't about the amount of faith we have — it's who our faith is in?

Faith is more than a feeling or a single moment of belief. It's a journey that touches the head, the heart, and the hands.

The head is where faith begins — in what we know to be true about God. It's remembering His promises and holding onto His Word, even when life doesn't make sense.

The heart is where faith deepens. It's where belief becomes trust — the kind of trust that says, "I'm letting go, God. I know You will catch me."

It's also where prayer lives — where we pour out our hopes, fears, and gratitude. Prayer becomes our connection to God, reminding us that we are never alone in our waiting or our believing.

The hands are where faith is lived out. Faith takes action. It shows up in obedience, in kindness, in how we love, and in how we lead others to trust God through the way we live. Our hands demonstrate what our hearts have learned — that faith moves, gives, and acts even when we don't see the full picture yet.

There was once a story about a man hanging from a rope in the dark. Terrified and unable to move, he cried out to God for help. God answered, "Let go." But fear kept him frozen in place. When rescuers found him the next morning, he was still hanging there — only two feet above the ground.

How often do we do the same? Holding on tightly, afraid to trust, not realizing that God's safety and help were already within reach.

Jesus said that if we have faith even as small as a mustard seed, we can move mountains. That tiny seed isn't about size — it's about trust. It's about believing that even the smallest "yes" to God carries power when it's rooted in Him.

So maybe faith isn't found in how tightly we hold on, but in how freely we let go — trusting that the ground beneath us is grace, and the One who calls us to release will never let us fall.

A gentle reminder for your space:

Sometimes we need a visible sign of what our hearts are learning — a daily cue to release and trust. Our "Let Go and Trust in the Lord" wall art was created with that in mind —— not just as a decoration, but as a declaration. A symbol of surrender, faith, and the quiet strength that comes from placing it all in God’s hands

You are held. You are heard. And you don’t walk alone.
